Privacy statement
We respect your privacy. This statement explains what personal data this website collects, why, who it is shared with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, organisation (optional), project type, budget range (optional) and message.
- Donation pledge form: your name, email address, whether you give as an individual or organisation, the amount you have in mind (optional), the site or category you'd like to support (optional) and your message.
We collect only what you type into these forms. This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build visitor profiles.
Why we use it
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry or pledge, to discuss and complete a gift or project you asked about, and to keep records the law requires of a Section 8 company. We will not send you newsletters or marketing unless you ask us to.
Consent
We process form data on the basis of the consent you give by ticking the consent box and submitting a form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Who we share it with
- Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, receives your submission and forwards it to our email inbox.
- GitHub Pages hosts this website and, like any web host, may record technical data such as your IP address in its server logs.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, so your browser connects to Google's servers when a page loads.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we share it with no one else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only as long as we need them to respond to you and complete what you asked about, plus any period the law requires for financial or statutory records. After that we delete them.
Your rights
You may ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct or update it, or to erase it. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf, and raise a grievance with us. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.
Security
This website is served only over HTTPS, and we limit access to form submissions to the people who need them to respond to you.
